Puppy Weight Calculator

Estimate your puppy's adult weight based on breed, current weight, and age.

How Does the Puppy Weight Calculator Work?

Our puppy weight calculator uses veterinary growth formulas to estimate your puppy's adult weight. The formula considers your puppy's current weight, age, and breed size category. Different size categories have different growth multipliers because larger dogs take longer to reach their full size and tend to gain proportionally more weight.

  • Toy & Small breeds (<25 lbs): Reach adult weight by 9-12 months
  • Medium breeds (25-50 lbs): Reach adult weight by 12-15 months
  • Large breeds (50-100 lbs): Reach adult weight by 15-18 months
  • Giant breeds (100+ lbs): May grow until 18-24 months old

Tips for Healthy Puppy Growth

Feed a quality puppy food. Puppies need nutrient-dense food formulated for growth. Large breed puppies should eat large-breed-specific formulas to support controlled growth and joint health.

Don't overfeed. Overfeeding puppies, especially large breeds, can lead to rapid growth that stresses developing joints and bones. Follow your vet's feeding guidelines.

Track weight regularly. Weigh your puppy weekly or biweekly to ensure they are growing at a healthy rate. Sudden changes may indicate health issues.

Regular vet checkups. Your veterinarian can assess your puppy's body condition score and adjust feeding recommendations as needed.
